"I am a strong supporter of our nation's parks, open spaces, wildlife habitat, and cultural treasures. The Conservation Trust Fund was created to provide dedicated funding to programs that protect these precious natural resources. It was the result of the bipartisan cooperation between elected officials, numerous organizations, and the previous administration. I believe in the goals of the Conservation Trust Fund and support full funding to achieve those goals."

"America’s national parks are priceless assets. They include breathtaking and inspirational mountains, lakes, seashores, historic sites, and monuments. Although President Bush promised to eliminate the maintenance backlog at national parks, crumbling buildings and roads continue to plague our parks. Within the context of a responsible budget, I support providing resources to remedy these shortfalls and protect, restore, and create parks."
